The Ultimate Guide to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights Journeys Overview and Pricing will demystify the pricing as it can be difficult to understand. In this article, we break down the pricing in an easy-to-understand format. 

First, the Product Renaming department at Microsoft (being sarcastic however I swear they have such a department) have renamed Dynamics 365 for Marketing to Customer Insights Journeys. To make this more confusing, there are two products under Customer Insights:

  • Customer Insights Data – enables businesses to unify customer data from various sources, such as transactions, interactions, and demographics, into a single, centralized view. This consolidated data can then be analyzed to gain insights into customer behavior, preferences, and trends.
  • Customer Insights Journeys – an enterprise marketing automation application that allows organizations to interact with customers and prospects across various touchpoints and channels. Customer journeys can encompass multiple interactions, such as email, SMS, landing pages, web forms and more. 

In this article we will focus on Customer Insights Journeys. 

Dynamics 365 Customer Insights Journeys Pricing - Base Subscription

There are two pricing/purchase options for Customer Insights Journeys:

• Dynamics 365 Customer Insights $1700/month
• Dynamics 365 Customer Insights Attach (must have 10 or more qualifying D365 subscription licenses) – $1000/month

You can save $700 per month if you have at least 10 qualifying Dynamics 365 subscription licenses: 

  • Dynamics 365 Customer Service Professional
  • Dynamics 365 Customer Service Enterprise
  • Dynamics 365 Sales Professional
  • Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise
  • Dynamics 365 Sales Premium
  • Dynamics 365 Field Service
  • Dynamics 365 Finance
  • Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management
  • Dynamics 365 Commerce

Capacity

There are two types of capacity you need to consider (well, technically only one type):

  • Interacted People – the base subscription includes 10,000 interacted people – leads/contacts that you have interacted via any channel – sending a marketing email, marketing SMS, filled out a marketing form…
  • Interactions – marketing interactions (emails, SMS messages, etc). The base subscription includes 10x interactions – you are allotted 10x the number of interacted people per month you can interact with (again via any channel).
    o With 10,000 interacted people you would have 100,000 interactions per month (i.e. be able to send up to 100k marketing emails per month)

Interacted People Expiration – a person is no longer included as an interacted person after there are no interactions for 12 consecutive months (no marketing emails sent, no marketing forms filled out etc)

Purchase Additional Capacity

Add Capacity (Interacted People) – also adds 10x the interactions
• Tier 1 – Up to 50k total – $250/month per 5000 people
• Tier 2 – 50k to 250k total – #300/month per 10,000 people
• Tier 3 – More than 250k people – $500/month per 50k people

Pricing Scenarios

A client has 100,000 total leads and contacts (combined total). They want to email all 100k in a single month.

  • No additional capacity is needed because you get 10x the number of interacted people for interactions (emails)

A client has 100,000 total leads and contacts (combined total). They want to sent 2 emails per month to all 100k people:

  • 100,000 interactions/month is included in the base subscription
  • They need 100k additional interactions/month, to get that they would need to purchase additional interacted people:
  • Add 2 Tier 1 packs – 5000 people each – $250 each – $500/month total cost (plus the cost of the base subscription)

A client has 200,000 total leads and contacts (combined total). They want to email all 200k 3x per month

  • They need 600k interactions
  • 100k interactions included in base subscription
  • Add 10 Tier 3 add-on packs – $500 each – $5000/month total (plus the cost of the base subscription)
